AkzoNobel's Annual Report for 2007, 'Year of Transformation' is available for viewing or download on the Akzo Nobel site. The report provides information on the acquisition of ICI, which has consolidated AkzoNobel’s position as the world’s largest maker of paints and coatings, as well as generating estimated pre-tax cost synergies of EUR 280 millions. The AkzoNobel Sustainability Report for 2007 , which is also available, details the strong fit of capabilities between the two companies in the area of Sustainability.The report notes that AkzoNobel and ICI have concluded that the new company will benefit from mutually reinforcing sustainability capabilities.
