Our Customers and Product Supply Chain

Commitment to product stewardship is one of the core elements of the way we operate. This encompasses protecting our customers and the public by the assessment and management of potential risk from our products throughout their life cycle: research and development, raw material sourcing, manufacture, storage, distribution, applications, reasonably foreseeable uses, including the proper handling by customers, distributors and other companies.

An important element of our strategy for improving the sustainability performance of our businesses is to build long-term relationships with key customers and with suppliers who share our ethical and environmental values and aspirations. It requires innovation to devise products that are safer or that deliver sustainability benefits, such as reducing the use of energy and other raw materials.

Assessments of our own businesses also are becoming more stringent and we are making progress in auditing suppliers. Concern for sustainability is having a growing impact on our product development processes.
