An ICI Board executive director has had responsibility for safety, health and the environment since 1987. Since 2001, an ICI Board director has had responsibility for sustainability, including safety, security, health and environment.
The Sustainability Board, formed in 2004, comprises senior representatives from each International business and each main function with the company. During 2005, they managed the development of the Sustainability Strategy and Sustainability Challenge 2010 objectives and now lead the implementation of these activities and monitor and review performance.
Our businesses are responsible for implementing ICI global policies and standards through local management systems. Business units establish and maintain an improvement plan to ensure progress towards Group targets: for Safety, Security, Health and Environment issues location specific plans are required.
